Central Coast Mariners have announced the departures of seven players and two coaches as the club targets a complete overhaul heading into next season.
With Mike Mulvey already confirmed to replace former Central Coast Mariners interim-coach and Academy Director, Wayne O'Sullivan, it seemed certain that there would be significant changes at the club over the offseason.
But few would have predicted the scope of player cleanouts. In addition to the retirement of Josh Rose, Storm Roux, Tom Glover, Jacob Poscoliero, Liam Rose, Josh Bingham, Blake Powell and Peter Skapetis will all leave the club.
Strength and Conditioning coach, Balder Beckermans, will also leave the set-up.
Roux is believed to be on the verge of signing a contract with Melbourne Victory, with the club announcing their interest in the fullback earlier in the season. Glover will return from his loan spell to Tottenham Hotspur.
In their statement, the club said they "would like to thank the players and staff members mentioned above for their efforts and wish them all the best with their future endeavours."
The losses leave Central Coast with only fourteen contracted players remaining, but a large chunk of the wage budget to spend in the offseason.
