Ryan was named PFA Premier League Player of the Month for October after a stellar shift for Brighton which saw the club win all their games without conceding a single goal.

The outstanding performance has lifted the club safely into 12th spot and put Ryan's efforts between the sticks in the spotlight.

With David de Gea now looking unlikely to renew his contract at Manchester United as he chases a return to Spain, Manchester United are on the hunt for a new keeper...and Ryan is reportedly in pole position.

But while Ryan acknowledged the speculation, he was keeping mum on any truth to it – but insisted he was only focused on Brighton's success right now.

"That’s just the industry we’re in," he told Players Voice website. "Rumours float around all the time.

"If I’d actually played for every team I’d been linked with through the years, I would have represented Real Madrid, Liverpool and quite a few others by now!

"It’s not something I think about, although it’s hard to ignore it completely when all your family and friends are messaging you to see whether it’s true.

"All I’ll say is this: I love doing what I’m doing and where I’m doing it."

He added: "Brighton is a special club. We won all three of our games in October and didn’t concede a goal.

"You’ve got to enjoy those moments in football. Things can change in an instant."
