The Matildas lost 2-0 in their crucial Beijing 2008 Olympics qualifying match against DPR (North) Korea in Pyongyang.
In front of a capacity crowd of 30,000, DPR Korea captain Ri Kum Suk scored both goals in warm and humid conditions. The first goal came in the 35th minute with a strike from the edge of the penalty area and the second from the penalty spot following a handball ten minutes after the interval.
DPR Korea now lead Group B by three points with three matches remaining. The two teams will face each other again next Sunday at the BCU international Stadium in Coffs Harbour with the Matildas needing a win.
Heather Garriock who will miss the match after received a second caution of during qualifying.
