STAR Matildas striker Sarah Walsh is on the radar of the US professional women's league after her dangerous displays at the World Cup.
“She is considering offers from the US,” Kerri Walsh, the players' mother, confirmed today in a newspaper interview.
Walsh, 24, was one of the stars of Australia's successful World Cup side in September. The Matildas reached the quarter finals before bowing out to the eventual runner up Brazil.
The striker scored in the side's opening match against Ghana and formed a deadly and very pacy partnership upfront with livewire Lisa De Vanna.
“She goes to the gym before work every day then training after work. Then to come back after three knee reconstructions and keep playing at an international level is sheer determination,” added her mother.
The US women's professional league is set to kick off in 2009.
Walsh is one of five players short-listed for the 2007 AFC Women's Asian Player of the Year. She's won 49 caps for Australia and has scored 24 times.
