"I'm absolutely buzzing, obviously everyone wants to represent their country and to be called up in into the squad is a great honour and I'm really looking forward to it," said the big striker who was playing with English non-league side York City this time last year.

"I've never been selected in the national team before so I'm really excited."

McBreen's team mates Jacob Burns and Mile Sterjovski will be added to the Socceroos squad should they successfully get through Sunday's A-League semi-final against Wellington Phoenix.

Since joining Glory in January from North Queensland Fury, McBreen has scored five goals in six starts.

He added: "Everyone has made me feel really welcome and I've just enjoyed the style of play we have here and I'm getting the chances and everything is going in the net so it's been a really positive move."
