BEIJING Olyroo Trent McClenahan has completed his move to English Championship club Scunthorpe United in a deal which keeps him at Glanford Park until January.
The 25-year-old Sydney-born defender, who left Scottish Premier League club Hamilton Academical in the off-season, impressed Iron boss Nigel Adkins after training with the club for the past week.
Adkins told the Scunthorpe Telegraph: "I think he has something, I really do. He is hungry and will fit into the culture we have here at Glanford Park.
"We are getting an experienced player who spent five years at West Ham and has spent the last couple of years playing Scottish Premier League football with Hamilton.
"He was offered a new two-year deal to stay up there, but wanted to try his luck down here.
"We were asked to have a look at him - and I like what I have seen.
"We have tried to create a 'win-win' situation by offering Trent a deal until January to give him a chance to try and prove himself."
