Former Scotland international Ally McCoist believes the Socceroos should throw Jamie Maclaren in against Denmark.
Australia needs to get its attack firing when it faces the Danes in the World Cup tonight.
McCoist, who scored 19 goals in 61 caps for Scotland and has managed Rangers, feels striker Maclaren could be the answer.
"I saw him score against my old club Rangers in the last game of the season," he told FourFourTwo.
"It was a brilliant game to watch, I watched him get his hat-trick. Jamie can finish. He has impressed me the times I've seen him in Scotland. He's one of those lads you want in the box if there's a half chance knocking about, he can score.
"Rogic is another one I like, I'm a big fan of Tom Rogic. He's been excellent for Celtic. He's one of these players in Scotland when you watch him there's always something happening round about him, little pieces of magic. I'd like to see Maclaren [against Denmark].
"Of course it's a massive step from Scotland to the World Cup, but he's certainly proved that at the top level. For Australia, with full respect, in World Cup games chances will be few and far between. So I think it's important you have someone in front of goal who can take the chance and execute it.
"I would give him an opportunity, I would give him a run."
After watching both Group C opening matches, McCoist believes the Socceroos have a good chance of knocking off Denmark in Samara.
"I fancy the Australian boys today," he said.
"I thought the Australian team was a little bit harshly treated with the VAR decision against France. I was really impressed with them and I think they'll certainly come out today."
