SOCCEROO Scott McDonald has dismissed suggestions he will be quit Celtic in January despite rumours of a deal lined up with English Premier League side, Wigan.
McDonald scored again at the weekend as he continued to impress for Celtic in the Scottish Premier League after dominating the scoresheets since he joined the club.
He is again the club's top scorer, and third highest all-time top scorer in the SPL's history with him set to notch up his century of goals very shortly.
The domestic form - unfortunately yet to be replicated at international level - has fuelled rumours of an imminent departure from Parkhead, despite three and half years left on his Celtic contract.
Wigan approached Celtic about a season-long loan move for McDonald in pre-season but that was rejected outright by Celtic management.
However the struggling English side are now said to be preparing an offer to buy the striker in the January transfer window - and Celtic may be tempted to cash in on their treasured matchwinner by forcing him into the move.
But McDonald insists he will only leave the hoops screaming and kicking.
"I think for the foreseeable future everything is happy for me here, so I don't really see myself anywhere else," McDonald told The Herald in Scotland.
"Everyone has goals and the Premier League is the best league in the world. Obviously players want to play in that league, no question. But it all has to be at the right time for that individual.
"The way I see it I am happy here and I am not really going anywhere to be honest - unless I am pushed out. Then, so be it. But hopefully that won't be happening any time soon."
McDonald is also anxious to remain in the starting line-up in the lead up to next year's World Cup - and a move to a new club could put that in jeopardy, potentially risking his place at South Africa.
He added: "It has to suit the individual and the most important thing is not just to go there for reasons other than football, whether it be money or anything else.
"You want to be playing, I think that is the most important decision. Some people have said things about that [Wigan] in the last couple of days because it has been in the press. But it is just press talk for me.
"I am not being funny but I have not really heard anything and I don't really want to hear anything if I'm honest.
"I am just fully concentrating on the job here and I think finally I have settled a bit and in the last couple of games I have been playing well so I just want to continue in that form and work hard."
