Everton goalscorer James McFadden admitted his UEFA Cup strike today was "up there alongside" his cracker for Scotland in France last month.
The Toffees beat Metalist Kharkiv 3-2 tonight to win 4-3 on aggregate in the first round and reach the group stages.
David Moyes' side had to come from behind twice, McFadden getting the second leveller, before Victor Anichebe's winner.
McFadden told Five: "It was a tough game but we had belief and knew we'd score goals. It was shaky at times but we got the right result in the end.
"It's nice to score goals but when it means as much as it did tonight it was extra special.
"It's up there. It's a long time since Everton have been into the proper stages of the UEFA Cup or other European competition. It was important goal for Everton so it's up there alongside it."
Everton boss David Moyes admitted the win was the fulfilment of a lifetime ambition.
The Scot explained on Five: "I'm delighted for all the players and for myself.
"It was something I wanted to do, to get a team into Europe and to get past the first round and play regularly.
"They (Metalist) proved a very good team. They did well tonight and I would have been delighted with a draw.
"I'm just glad to get through. I'm delighted to be through."
