Brugge confirmed the transfer on Tuesday, purchasing the young midfielder from A-League side Adelaide United.

McGree, 18, broke onto the scene last season and impressed so much he was called up to the Socceroos squad by coach Ange Postecoglou for March's World Cup qualifiers.

While he did not feature for the national team, it was a huge compliment to the promising youngster, having only scored his first goal for Adelaide in January.

McGree will link up for Brugge's pre-season before heading off to the AFC U23 Championship China 2018 Qualifiers, to be held in Myanmar next month.

The South Australian becomes the latest Australian to play for the Belgian club, alongside Socceroos goalkeeper Mathew Ryan, Vancouver Whitecaps winger Bernie Ibini, former Socceroo Frank Farina and Central Coast Mariners coach Paul Okon.
