With first-choice goalkeeper Liam Reddy out injured for up to six weeks, McMaster will have his the first chance to impress new coach Ange Postecoglou as he casts his eye over the team from the stands.

Having done the business when called upon in the previous two seasons, the 26-year-old said he was confident he could again prove his worth against the Mariners.

"I know I've got a point to prove and I know 110 per cent that I can achieve that," he said. "I haven't missed a beat in training (but) with no games you can't make any judgements because the pressure situation of a game is the ultimate test for a goalkeeper.

"But I'm confident. I was in the same position last year when I came in and only played a handful of games, but I'm going to make the most of it."

McMaster won't be the only player hoping to impress tomorrow and he said the expectation of the new coach would go some way to negating the disruption of Frank Farina's departure.

"Everyone's keen to go and looking forward to the game on the weekend," he said. "It's a must-win three points for us.

"When a new coach arrives there's definitely going to be everything to prove, so there are no excuses for us this week in terms of preparation.

"We want to go out there and prove to the new coach that we can play."

Also key in steadying the ship will be captain Craig Moore, who returns from Socceroos duty to lead the side.

"Craig went away with the Australian team and he kept two clean sheets, so I suppose we want to try to add another one," McMaster said.

Tomorrow night's match against the Mariners kicks off at 5.30pm at Suncorp Stadium.

Tickets for the remainder of the season have been reduced and kids 15-and-under enter free to this match when accompanied by a paying adult
