At the team's only public meet and greet before the China World Cup qualifier on Sunday, the Socceroos got the rock star treatment from a large and enthusiastic crowd at Westfield shopping centre.

"It was unreal. Oh my god! I've been a fan of Harry's all of my life," said the pregnant Socceroo fan moments after meeting her hero.

"He just asked me if I played soccer and if I had children. Well I do and I do have kids. And I showed him my pregnant stomach and he was fine with autographing it," said the excited Socceroo fan.

She added the name Harry was now a strong contender should her baby turn out to be a boy.

The Socceroos, including coach Pim Verbeek, answered questions from MC Andy Harper and signed autographs for around an hour with fans eager to get close to their heroes.

"It was fantastic, made my day. I've been a fan for years, for as long as I could remember," said one fan.

"He said it was so nice to meet you. I'm so excited I want to go back on the line and do it again," added Socceroo supporter Marnie.

"We came all the way from Cronulla to see Harry," said another starstruck audience member.

"He's wonderful, a wonderful representative of Australia. He's young, and a wonderful athlete and he's done Australia proud," added Socceroo fan Cheryl.

Socceroo fan Kate said: "He's great. Harry's a great role model for kids these days."
