Melbourne City travel to India next month to take part in the inaugural three-team tournament 'Toyota Yaris LaLiga World', as part of their preparations for the A-League 2018-19 season.
Warren Joyce's side will take on Spanish sister club Girona FC and Indian Super League club Kerala Blasters in Kochi, on India's south-west coast.
The tournament runs from 24-29 July at the Jawaharlal Nehru International Stadium. It will be the very first international pre-season football tournament held in the country.
It aspires to showcase India as an attractive pre-season destination for international clubs, in response to the sport's rising popularity.
India hosted the FIFA Under-17 World Cup last year with great success.
City CEO Scott Munn said the whole club are "incredibly excited" about making their first visit to the country.
"This is Melbourne City's first ever visit to India, and the whole squad are incredibly excited about meeting fans in Kochi and playing in front of a passionate crowd," he said.
"High-quality opposition is an important part of our pre-season preparation, and we're delighted to be taking on both Kerala Blasters and our sister club Girona FC in this brand new tournament."
Kerala Blasters were founded four years ago and finished mid-table in their domestic league. They are coached by former England goalkeeper David James, and have ex-Manchester United defender Wes Brown and ex-Tottenham striker Dimitar Berbatov in their ranks.
Girona finished 10th in La Liga last season, having been promoted to Spain's top tier for the first time in their history.
The cost of tickets for the tournament starts at 275 Indian Rupees (AUD $5.45) and will be available through the official ticketing partner, PayTM.
