Substitute Daniel Arzani teed up two Ross McCormack goals as Melbourne City moved to third place with a come-from-behind 2-1 victory over Wellington Phoenix.
The Phoenix came to AAMI Park with a game plan, and it seemed to be working when Roy Krishna capitalised on a Michael Jakobsen error to give the visitors the lead at the break.
Arzani was introduced early in the second half and eventually went on to assist McCormack's brace to help City record their first win in four matches.
MELBOURNE CITY
Dean Bouzanis - 5
Made a decent save to deny Kaludjerovic early but had no time to prepare for Krishna's goal.
Manny Muscat - 5
Replaced early in the second half by Daniel Arzani.
Bart Schenkeveld - 5
Read the game well. Defended well when called upon.
Michael Jakobsen - 4
The captain made a rare error which allowed Krishna to score the opener.
Scott Jamieson - 6
Had over a 100 touches which isn't bad for a left back. Delivered a couple of crosses as well.
Nathaniel Atkinson - 5
Didn't look comfortable in his role further forward. Moved to right back when Muscat was substituted and immediately looked a better player.
Osama Malik - 5
Played deep and passed well but didn't have a huge impact on the result.
Luke Brattan - 7
Directed traffic for City, constantly switching the ball into open areas. Always tried to make something happen.
Nick Fitzgerald - 5
Struggled to get into the game, and almost always made the wrong decision on the ball. Replaced by Carrusca
Dario Vidosic - 5
Obviously all eyes were on him and there was plenty of chat with his former teammates. Had a couple of shots but never troubled Wellington's goal, and was replaced by fellow debutant Harrison Delbridge.
Ross McCormack - 8
Looked frustrated early but made no mistake with his two goal scoring opportunities, burying both.
SUBS
Daniel Arzani - 9
Completely changed the game. Replaced Muscat early, made an instant impact and assisted both goals.
Marcelo Carrusca - N/A
Entered the game midway through the second half, and wasn't involved enough to deserve a rating.
Harrison Delbridge - N/A
Made his debut in the final 10 minutes.
WELLINGTON PHOENIX
Lewis Italiano - 7
Made a number of decent saves, mostly from distance, but couldn't do much to prevent McCormack's brace.
Daniel Mullen - 6
Defended well before McCormack struck twice. Made plenty of clearances and won as many duels.
Andrew Durante - 6
Made a few clearances and interceptions, but despite City's possession he wasn't faced with much pressure defensively. Was sacrificed later for attacker Adam Parkhouse.
Marco Rossi - 5
Got away with holding back Vidosic before being booked moments later for a foul on McCormack.
Scott Galloway - 5
Booked late for a foul on Arzani
Goran Paracki - 5
Won a few duels and exhibited solid defending, but was also dispossessed a handful of times.
Matthew Ridenton - 6
Was one of Wellington's best and most involved, and tried to create many chances.
Mike McGlinchey - 4
Had fewer touches than any other starting player. Didn't contribute much.
Thomas Doyle - 6
Had plenty of promise going forward, dashing past defenders, and delivering crosses into the box.
Roy Krishna - 7
Was at the right place at the right time to punish Jakobsen for his error. The Fijian became just the second Phoenix player to score 30 goals for the club. Provided good service for his strike partner as well.
Andrija Kaludjerovic - 6
Only the crossbar denied his sixth headed goal of the season. Had a couple of other chances but was caught offside too many times.
SUBS
Nathan Burns - N/A
Made his return to the A-League in the 70th minute replacing Krishna.
Adam Parkhouse - N/A
Late substitution.
