Melbourne Victory have expressed disappointment and frustration after defender Rhys Williams signed with Saudi outfit, Al-Qadsiah FC.
Williams is the latest to depart the 2017/18 champions, despite being contracted for another year.
The 29-year-old, who is featured prominently in the club's new membership campaign, made 32 appearances in all competitions during his one season at AAMI Park.

Victory eventually confirmed the former Middlesbrough defender was pursuing an opportunity overseas after Al-Qadsiah tweeted his signing.
"We are obviously extremely disappointed to lose a player of Rhys' quality," coach Kevin Muscat said.
"We'd planned for Rhys to be here for at least another season, but in the end we honoured the agreement we made when he first joined the club, so we thank him for his contribution and wish him all the best.
"While it's frustrating when things like this happen, we will continue adding quality players to the squad ahead of the new season."

Williams celebrated the first medal of his career when Victory defeated Newcastle Jets in the A-League Grand Final earlier this year.
For the injury-plagued defender is was his longest season since 2011. Even so he missed the final two games due to a calf injury.
ALL THE A-LEAGUE OFF-SEASON PLAYER MOVES
Williams said he had no intentions of leaving the A-League, although he didn't rule it out.
“You never cancel anything out, I feel like I left England and Europe on bad terms, so if something did come up you never know,” Williams admitted.
“I’m not actively looking to move, I love it here, this is the biggest club, I’ve already captained them and we have a trophy, so why wouldn’t I stay?
"Then again, if something pops up and there’s unfinished business, who knows? Right now, I’m extremely happy here and I’ve got another year, so we’ll see how that goes.
