Melbourne Victory

Lawrence Thomas – 7 - Did his job when required including denying a Nick D’Agostino header in the first half. Drawn out to his near post to cover, but Jack Hingert was able to angle his cut back past him, leaving an open goal for Brett Holman to tap into.

Jason Geria – 6.5 - Did well to get forward and contribute but got lost in a flock of seagulls in the 2nd half.

Thomas Deng – 6 - Assured performance on the back of scoring last week. Played second fiddle to Rhys Williams whose presence dominated.

Rhys Williams – 7.5 - Responded to non-selection for the Socceroos with a classy night. Stood up when required, fouled when required, and took on the game to promote positive football from his side.

Stefan Nigro – 6 – Didn’t have much to contribute throughout the night with Leroy George dominating on the opposite flank.

Leigh Broxham – 6 - Mr Fix It. Playing alongside Sanchez and Valeri meant he was left to go forward more often than he probably has in his whole career. It showed, as he failed to contribute too much and got jittery when close to the box.

Carl Valeri – 6.5 - Unfamiliar partnership in the middle without Milligan and was left to plug the holes with new partner Matias Sanchez. Distributed well when on the ball.

Matias Sanchez – 6.5 - A second start in a row for the Argentine. Will warm to the pace and the surfaces but currently in a holding pattern trying to find his groove, not made easy by inconsistent minutes. Substituted in the 77th minute.
