Socceroo Mark Milligan capped off a brilliant week with a man of the match performance in Melbourne Victory’s first win of the season.
Victory saw off Perth Glory 2-0 and jumped off the bottom of the table at nib Stadium on Sunday.
For Milligan, the long awaited three points followed Wednesday night’s triumph when the Socceroos defeated Honduras 3-1 in Sydney to book their place at next year’s World Cup.
“Yeah it was a very good week," Milligan told Fox Sports.
“The win tonight was important for us. We've got a big week of travel this week – we go straight to Newcastle tomorrow – and we knew we had to turn our season around soon.
“We played well in patches but we haven’t really put together a full performance and this came off a short week for most of us.”

The game was goalless at the break with Victory carving out the better of the chances. Rhys Williams and Besart Berisha came closest to breaking the deadlock in the first 45.
Berisha finally made it count after the break, getting Victory off the mark on 56 minutes before Leroy George doubled the advantage 11 minutes later.

Milligan said there was no time to dwell on the Socceroos triumph, with so much at stake on the domestic front.
"Obviously we did what we needed to do on Wednesday night and afterwards we were with our families and each other," he said.
"(But) it was good to get that out of our of system pretty quick because we all had to head back to clubland straight away.
"I’m just focused on Victory now. We’ve got a long time before the national break again and it’s a good chance for us boys to settle down and start putting some results together."
