Socceroo James Meredith and Bradford City have one foot in the Championship promotion play-offs final after defeating Fleetwood Town 1-0 overnight.
Bradford triumphed at the Coral Windows Stadium 1-0 thanks to Rory McArdle’s 77th minute strike which gives them the advantage ahead of their semi-final second leg at Fleetwood on Monday morning.
Meredith, who was previously named in the League One Team of the Season, put in a full shift in the triumph.
The Australian had a late chance to make it 2-0 from Tony McMahon’s cross when he arrived at the back post unmarked, but couldn’t hit the target.
The promotion play-off final will be played at Wembley Stadium on Saturday 20 May.
