Sydney coach Graham Arnold wrote 6-0 on the whiteboard in his side's changerooms prior to their 6-0 victory over Perth Glory last round.

Merrick said he was happy with the draw despite leading twice and joked about the Sky Blues whiteboard.

"I'm really glad the sydney players wrote the score up on the whiteboard before the game," Merrick laughed when speaking with Fox Sports.

"It said 2-2!"

He added: "I was pretty happy with a draw. I think it was fairly even.

"We did really well in the first half but we always knew our youngsters were going to struggle in the second half."

The Jets went ahead through Andrew Nabbout on 10 minutes, before Milos Ninkovic equalised six minutes later with a skilful goal.

Joey Champness restored the Jets lead on 62 minutes, before Bobo forced home the leveller in the 87th minute.

"I think everyone that came on the park did a job," Merrick said.

"They were all playing with a lot of effort. Whoever made mistakes, they made up for it.

"The young full-back (John) Koutroumbis, he struggled to keep the ball at times, but geez he worked right til the end and saved us a couple of times at the end.

"It was one of those days there was lots of effort when we needed it. We struggled in the last 15 minutes."

The second-placed Jets are next in action on Tuesday against Central Coast.
