Real have beaten the Andalusians 6-2 in their previous two league meetings at the Estadio Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan, but Michel believes his team can overcome the odds and post a win when they meet on Sunday.

"We cannot make any excuses, about our character, or the calendar, or if it's the moment or not. Madrid is just like any another team," Michel said.

"We are talking about a huge club with plenty of stars in the squad, any of the players who will be on the bench tomorrow could play in any other team in La Liga.

"They've got a great potential, but it would be really great for us to win the match, so the players and I have a big challenge ahead."

With Real making a sluggish start to the season, and facing a Champions League encounter with Manchester City on Tuesday, there is a feeling Sevilla could be running into Jose Mourinho's side at a good time.

But Michel was quick to scoff at those suggestions, and believes the star-studded visitors will be at their best.

"Last year the people said that they (Real Madrid) were not playing their best but they won the league with ease and passed the 100-point mark," Michel said.

"They are not thinking about the Champions League match against Manchester City. They are one of the two best teams in the world, the moment is neither good or bad - it's just the moment."
