"It would have been easier to travel to Manchester having a different score.
"But my team displayed a good performance and I am confident that it can go to Old Trafford and do well."
The return clash at Old Trafford is on March 10, meaning Milan can retrain their focus on to domestic matters in the meantime.
They remain in the title race, although their first aim is to leapfrog Roma into second place in the standings.
That will be no easy task, though, as Roma, who are two points ahead of Leonardo's men, are in great form at present.

Napoli need to prevail to be certain that Sampdoria and Juventus do not overtake them in the standings.
