AC Milan breathed a sigh of relief after it was confirmed Ronaldinho will miss only a week with a hamstring injury.
It had been feared the Brazilian playmaker would be ruled out for a month with an injury he suffered during training yesterday afternoon.
But tests today found the problem was less serious than first thought.
"AC Milan can announce that Ronaldinho suffered a left hamstring strain," the club said in a statement.
"The player will not be available for the Emirates Cup matches and will miss around seven days."
Ronaldinho has recently committed his future to Milan after another summer of speculation.
Milan will now expect him to be fit for their opening Serie A match at home to Lecce on August 29.
