EXCLUSIVE: Former Socceroo Ante Milicic has taken up the role of player-coach at NSW Premier League club Sydney United.
Milicic, 33, a former United star in the NSL, recently returned to Australia after a stint in Malaysia with Shazhan.
The Malaysian FA enforced a no foreign player policy thus expediting the former Roar and Jets striker's return home last month - too late for anything concrete in the A-League.
Milicic is best remembered for being a key part of the Young Socceroos semi final finishing side of 1993, where he scored in the Aussies' opening match at the SFS.
He last played for the Socceroos in 2005 against Indonesia. He scored five times in five appearances for the green and gold.
