OLYROO skipper Mark Milligan is now on trial with Bundesliga giants Werder Bremen, the club confirmed today.
The Socceroo and former Sydney FC fullback has been working out with the club since Wednesday as the latest top Euro club to have a look at him.
Since leaving Sydney at the end of last season, Milligan was been for trials with Arsenal, Porto and Manchester City, among others.
But he has so far been unable to agree a contract with any.
However Werder Bremen were full of praise for the 23 year old Aussie after he impressed at training.
General manager Klaus Allofs said: “He will definitely be training with us until at least Friday.
"He is a young, interesting player who we’ve had an eye on for some time and he recently performed well at the Olympic Games. He is a genuine defensive all-rounder.”
A statement on the club website added: "Milligan is considered a rising talent."
Based in Bremen in Germany's northwest, Werder did the double in 2004, winning the national cup competition and the Bundesliga title.
