Football Federation Australia (FFA) officials today met with player Mark Milligan to discuss Milligan’s ‘no show’ at the current Olympic Games training camp in Townsville.

FFA has advised that, in light of the reasons provided by Milligan, he will not eligible to attend the Olympic Football team’s upcoming Olympic Games preparatory tournament in Malaysia to be held from 13-25 May 2008.

A spokesman added: "FFA will be making no further comment on this matter."

Milligan was due to join the Olyroos squad at their training camp in Townsville last Thursday but never appeared.

He is understood to have been the UK in talks with clubs there - including Arsenal - as the ex-Sydney FC defender looks for a European side for next season.

But sources close to the player insist the FFA had been informed in advance that Milligan would be late for the U23s training session.

However FFA sources say they had not been warned he would be joining the squad later or skipping the camp altogether to fly direct to Malaysia for the matches there.

His future as Olyroo skipper may now be in doubt, although he is unlikely to be excluded from the Olympics at this stage.
