Former Olyroo Tahj Minniecon scored on debut after his return to the Phillippines to join Davao Aguilas FC.
Cairns-born Minniecon, 29, moves from NPL2 side Nunawading City in Victoria which he joined earlier this year after his previous Philippines club Meralco Manila went bust.
He will be playing alongside former Central Coast Mariner Brad McDonald who joined the Filipino top tier side last year.
The club and player took to social media to announce the move on Facebook.
”Very happy to be back in the Phillippines, and on board with a great club with huge ambitions” said Minniecon, who played in the A-League for Queensland Roar, Gold Coast United and Western Sydney Wanderers.
“Had a good start yesterday but the hard work is only beginning! Looking forward to the next few weeks when we push for an AFC berth.”
Minniecon got straight into the action with his new club, and scored just after the hour mark in their league clash against Global yesterday as the opened in a 2-0 win.
He added later: “I don’t think I’ve scored with a header since I was 12!’
Davao Aguilas are currently third in the six team league.
