Liverpool star Mohamed Salah has visited a young fan who ran into a lamp-post in pursuit for the Egyptian, busting up his nose in the process.

Louis Fowler was attempting to get Salah's attention when he saw him driving out of the club's training ground before injuring himself and being taken home by neighbours.

Salah, who had seen the incident, decided to turn back and follow Louis and his brother back to their home to meet the pair.

Louis' stepfather Joe Cooper told the Liverpool Echo: "It all happened so quick we hadn't even had the chance to clean him up."

"He'd seen one of the boys had hurt himself and he had the decency to drive back into the close to check that he was okay. No one could believe it. Everyone was gobsmacked.

"Mo asked if the boys were all right and gave them a big hug, which was what they both needed. They were made up and Louis forgot all about being injured."

An ambulance soon arrived to take Louis to hospital where he had his nose treated however, Louis seemed to care less about his injury.

Mr Cooper said: "The face is a bit sore but he is great! He can't stop smiling!"

Salah opened up his scoring account for the 2019/20 Premier League season in a 4-1 victory over Norwich, making this the third season in a row the Egyptian has scored in the opening round.
