Brisbane Roar football director Craig Moore has remained tight-lipped after the club’s vice-chairman Chris Fong blamed the former Socceroo for their embarrassing kit debacle.
The club was ridiculed around the world when the numbers on the back of shirts began falling off mid-match.
The situation became even worse when staff on the Roar bench attempted to fix the numbers with tape, trying to doctor one shirt from 77 to 22 for Eric Bautheac, whose original shirt number had come off.
The performance from the team was as bad as the lettering on the shirts with Roar losing 3-2 at home against Fillipino side Ceres Negros in front of a tiny 1,279 crowd at the Asian Champions League qualifier.
On Wednesday morning the club admitted the debacle had been "unacceptable".
But Fong went further and blamed Moore, who had previously resigned, personally for the issue, putting him on immediate gardening leave.
“I was flabbergasted with images and footage I saw," Fong told The World Game.
“I couldn’t believe what I was seeing… it was disgusting that we could allow ourselves to be brought down to this level. It’s indicative of what has been going on behind the scenes.
“We have a football director and the buck stops with him."
He added: "It was a systemic failure of management in the football department. It has had the wrong culture and has gone down the wrong path.
“This was not about money, it has to do with attitude and process of care. Basic standards were not met.”
Moore refused to discuss Fong’s outburst when contacted by FourFourTwo who understands he is awaiting advice on his situation before responding to the vice-chairman’s allegations.
