Moore had been agonising over whether to pull on the green and gold again for some time and finally decided to resume international duties after a phone call with coach Pim Verbeek this week.

The Queensland Roar defender could come into the frame for the Socceroos clash against Qatar in Brisbane next month.

Moore told Brisbane's Courier Mail: "What I've done is put my hand up, and left the ball in Pim's court.

"We both said that the main aim is for Australia to qualify for the next World Cup (in 2010).

"I'm feeling good, so why not make myself available again? I see a lot of other players still playing international football that are a lot older than myself.

"If it does happen in the future, great. If it doesn't, then no problems."

Moore's experience will be a welcome addition for Verbeek while others have also been backing Moore for an international return. In recent weeks both Frank Farina and Paul Okon have said they would be right behind Moore pulling on the green and gold once again.
