QUEENSLAND Roar Captain Craig Moore says this Sunday’s clash with Sydney FC is primed to be one of the games of the season in front of a record crowd.

John Kosmina’s side are currently fifth on the A-League ladder, five points adrift of second-placed Roar, and the Queensland skipper admits his team will have to be wary of Sydney’s hunger to continue their own run of decent form.
“They’re in a position where they’re desperate for points and we’re on a nice run that we’d like to continue," said Moore.
:It all makes for a really good game, with the added spice of the Queensland versus New South Wales state rivalry, so they’ll be tackles flying around and it’ll be a great spectacle for the fans.
“We want to continue winning our games and Sydney need to win their games so I’m sure you’ll see quite a fiery game.
"But it’s our job as players to try to control that aggression and make it a proper game of football, but at the same time give the referee nothing silly to deal with.”
Sydney coach John Kosmina is also primed for a battle royale against Roar.
“Queensland is a team in form, playing with a lot of cohesion," he said. "Moore has been playing with great finesse, and his combination with Sasha Ognenovski has been good.
"We are aware of Queensland’s strengths, but I’m more concerned about us being aware of what we can do. “
With both Sydney and Queensland out to spoil each others unbeaten run in Sunday’s Hyundai A-League clash, along with the presentation of the LA Galaxy team to the crowd at half time, the biggest crowd so far this season is expected at the Sydney Football Stadium.
Moore has overcome the ankle sprain that threatened his place in the starting eleven and influential midfielder Danny Tiatto will also travel having recovered from the groin strain that has kept him out of Roar’s three-game winning streak in November.
With Frank Farina’s men now showing the consistency they have lacked in the first two seasons of the Hyundai A-League, Moore said the focus for the side is to take each game as it comes and maintain their current form.
“We’ve had a decent run lately and we’ve a virtually full-strength squad to choose from again," he said.
"It’s nice to be backing up results which we haven’t done in previous seasons, but the Melbourne win is behind us now and we’ve got Sydney this weekend to turn our attention to.
“It’s important that we focus on the game at hand and not start thinking ahead. We’re in a good position with the squad coming back to full-strength, but if we go to Sydney and don’t get a result, then things can change very quickly.”
Mark Milligan and Ruben Zadkovich returned this morning after their tour with the Qantas U23’s and went direct to Sydney Football Stadium for a light session before the weekend.
Kosmina added: “Milligan and Zadkovich are both in good nick after a long, difficult Olyroos campaign. It’s a hell of a jaunt and to qualify undefeated is a great effort.”
But Farina faces some selection headaches in the coming weeks with a fully-fit squad to pick from he says the healthy competition for places and an injury or suspension free squad is a dream for any coach.
The Roar boss said: “We’ve got everyone – all 22 players, so it’s a great position to be in. Unfortunately they’ll be some disappointed lads missing out on selection, but it just shows how competitive the squad is.
“We just hope that this depth and competitiveness will stay with us throughout the rest of the campaign.
“This game against Sydney, and in fact every game between now and the end of the season, is like finals football. Kossie’s done really well and his results speak for themselves. He’s certainly got them working and he has a good record, there’s no doubt about that.”
Flying winger Michael Zullo is already in Sydney after flying in with the Olyroo squad from North Korea this morning and Farina will take a look at him at tomorrow’s training session before deciding what role he will play in Sunday’s game.
Farina added: “He arrives in Sydney today and we’ve got to see how he is before we make a decision. He’s gone from 30 degree temperatures, to sub-zero temperatures and then back into 30 degrees.
“Mentally he should be fine, but he’ll stay down there tonight, put his feet up, have a nice meal, a massage, and go to bed - it beats working...”
