Moore gave a rousing pep talk at this morning's session to address the team's slow start to the new season which has seen them pick up just two points from the opening three rounds.

"This is the time you need players to stand up, to put in the big performances and work hard," said the Socceroos defender. "So it was more a message in getting that across and to make sure that we continue to work hard.

"If we do that I'm sure things will turn and we'll start to get the results.

"I'm confident with the players we've got here that that's just a matter of time, but you need to make sure the basics are there."

Brisbane have let four points slip from their grasp in the past two weeks, after conceding late equalisers against both Melbourne and Wellington.

Moore said he was at a loss to explain how the leads were slipping away from Roar but said the team would continue to work hard to turn things around.

"Winning is a habit and also when you go on a losing run unfortunately at times it's something that does for certain teams become a habit," he said. "We don't want that to be the case here, we want to get into good habits and start to pick up points fairly quickly.

"I think the last couple of weeks have been tough ones to take in terms of being in winning positions and letting the game slip away from us, but it's up to ourselves to change it.

"That doesn't come easy, it's hard work.

"If you continue to do that, you'd like to think you get more results than not and we definitely need to go out there and do that on the weekend against the Central Coast."

Roar coach Frank Farina will watch Saturday's match from the stands, after being sent from the touchline in a fiery end to last weekend's encounter with Wellington.

Moore admitted Farina's input would be missed, but said it was down to the players to perform on the day.

He added: "You've still got (assistant coach) Rado (Vidosic) on the sideline who does a lot of that stuff anyway.

"It'll be a nice opportunity for the Gaffer to see us from a different position I guess."
