EUROROOS WRAP: Socceroos veteran Craig Moore scored for Kavala overnight but it wasn't enough as they lost 3-1 at home to Ergotelis in the Greek Super League.
The visitors went ahead when Moore allowed Manuel Junior to play in Deividas Cesnauskis who scored after 22 minutes.
But in the 33rd minute Kavala won a penalty when Ergotelis defender Giorgi Shashiashvili handballed in the box.
Moore, who scored from the spot in Australia's 2-2 draw with Croatia at the 2006 World Cup, coolly slotted his penalty low to keeper Iosif Daskalakis's right to level terms.
Mario Budmir restored Ergotelis' advantage on the hour mark with Moore and Kavala backing off the Croatian as he drove towards the box, before Michalis Fragoulakis sealed the win with an 82nd minute strike.
A tired Moore was replaced on 73 minutes, with Kavala having played five games in 15 days following their Greek Cup exit. Kavala remain sixth in the Super League despite the loss.
Staying in Greece, Nathan Burns was another Aussie on the scoresheet overnight, striking in AO Kerkyra's 3-0 win over Kalamata in Beta Ethniki.
Burns, who played 81 minutes in the victory, calmly slotted Kerkyra's third goal in the contest on 77 minutes. The goal was his eighth for promotion-chasing Kerkyra this season.
In England's Premier League, Brett Emerton was a 66th minute substitute in Blackburn's 1-0 Lancashire derby win at Burnley. Vince Grella was an unused sub for Rovers.
In Turkey's Super Lig, Socceroos skipper Lucas Neill played a full game for Galatasaray as they crashed to a 1-0 home loss to rivals Fenerbahce. There's still no Harry Kewell for Cimbom.
The result, which leaves Galatasaray fourth, will have a big bearing in deciding the title race.
Elsewhere in Turkey, Michael Petkovic played a full game as Sivasspor drew 2-2 at Gaziantepspor, while Mile Jedinak also put in a full shift as Antalyaspor drew 0-0 at home with Manisaspor.
In Turkey's Lig A, Ersan Gulum played a full game for Adanaspor as they defeated Gaziantep BB 1-0, to move into third.
In Portugal's Liga Sagres, young Aussie defender Jason Davidson was an unused substitute for Pacos Ferreira as they lost 2-1 at Uniao de Leiria.
In Norway's Eliteserien, Socceroos hopeful Jade North did not play for Tromsø IL as they defeated Kongsvinger 1-0.
In Denmark's Superliga, up-and-coming Aussie striker Brent McGrath didn't play as Brondby lost 3-1 at SonderjyskE despite having made his first-team debut midweek.
Meanwhile, Aussie goalkeeper Nathan Coe didn't feature either as struggling Randers grabbed another important win, 4-0 over Esbjerg.
Finally to Asia, in Japan's J2.League, Mark Milligan put in a full shift for JEF United Chiba, picking up a booking, as they scored twice late to defeat Thespa Kusatsu 2-1.
