VETERAN Socceroos defender Craig Moore admits he has some concerns about the future of the A-League and believes further expansion should be put off until the competition can sort their current problems out.

After four relatively successful seasons since its inception in 2005, the A-League's fifth instalment faced a few speed humps on a number of fronts.
A number of clubs experienced a big drop off in crowds while the futures of new franchises Gold Coast United and North Queensland Fury have been shrouded by uncertainty.
It's not ideal for the league with two new clubs - Melbourne Heart and Sydney Rovers - to join the league over the next two seasons.
Moore said he had doubts whether the A-League was currently in good enough shape for further expansion.
"The numbers we've got now as far as the amount of teams I think is right at the moment," Moore said.
"As time goes on and we develop a lot of things in the game and get a bit more depth then we can look at (expansion).
"But at the moment we're not in a position to do that.
"We have to try and produce an entertaining league and a competitive league, that's the most important thing at this point in time."
Moore did back FFAs decision to introduce the new Australian marquee player as a way of luring better players to the league to attract more fans and increase the quality of the competition.
"I strongly believe something had to be done because our crowds have dropped away ... we really need to start getting more bums on seats," he said.
"There's no getting away from it, it's certainly a test at the moment.
"We're still only six years old as a league and I think that we'll be okay but it's important that we sort out the problems now.
"It is a slight concern but I think we'll come through it."
But the 34-year-old has more pressing concerns than the future of the A-league on his mind at the moment with the start of the World Cup in South Africa just 44 days away.
Moore was quick to play down concerns about the fitness of a number of Socceroos stars who are currently not playing regular football.
The likes of Harry Kewell, Mark Bresciano, Vince Grella, Brett Emerton and Moore himself have all played little football recently while Jason Culina is only training, and not playing, with Dutch giants PSV Eindhoven.
But Moore said the panic about the fitness of Australia's stars was premature ahead of the nation's opening game against Germany in Durban on June 13.
"After the World Cup, those players who do great, you're going to say 'they were brought in fresh, they were buzzing'," he said.
"But if they don't do well, then they didn't have the perfect preparation."
Moore, who has been linked with a return to the A-League with the Gold Coast next season, said he's still unsure about his future following the World Cup.
"At the moment, as much as I love (living in Brisbane) and all that sort of stuff, I can't really go back to Brisbane Roar can I?" he said.
"And the Gold Coast situation, I've not spoken to the Gold Coast at all ... so I don't know.
"I've just left everything because I just want to really focus on the job of getting myself ready for the World Cup."
