SOCCEROO Craig Moore could be set for a January loan move to Perth-based Scottish Premier League club St Johnstone, according to reports in Scotland.
The experienced Brisbane Roar man wants to head to Europe in the new year to enhance his hopes of going to the 2010 World Cup with the Socceroos.
And St Johnstone boss Derek McInnes, a former teammate of Moore's at Rangers, has revealed he is in talks with the 34-year-old Australian defender.
"I've spoken to Craig because he wants somewhere to play with next summer's World Cup in South Africa in mind. The Australian season is coming to a close," McInnes said.
"We discussed the possibility of him coming to Perth on a short-term deal. Now I'm waiting for an answer. He has indicated he is thinking seriously about it.
"He is vastly experienced and having played with Craig at Ibrox, I hold him in very high regard."
St Johnstone, who are currently seventh in the Scottish Premier League, are in the market for a central defender after skipper Kevin Rutkiewicz sustained a three-month knee injury earlier this month.
