Socceroos Mat Ryan and Aaron Mooy are set to take part in the first fan-attended match in the UK with Brighton Hove & Albion playing an unnamed friendly opponent.
The AMEX Stadium has been reportedly chosen due to its modernity and efficiency according to The Times, with the club set to host around 2,500 fans for the friendly fixture.
The game will likely be a test of whether fans can safely return to English football fixtures, as smaller clubs begin to crumble under the financial weight of COVID restrictions.
Brighton may also host a second match later in September, while Jacynta Galabadaarachchi's West Ham could also face the Caitlin Foord, Steph Catley and Lydia Williams' Arsenal in front of fans later in the month.
October 1 is the tentative date set for fans returning to all sporting contests, albeit in a very limited manner, with figures of one-third capacity bandied about.
