Aaron Mooy has been cleared of serious injury and could be back playing for Huddersfield Town as soon as this weekend.
Mooy missed the Socceroos' 0-0 draw with Colombia on Tuesday after picking up an unspecified injury in training.
He was sent back to Huddersfield early as a precaution.
But fears the Australian could miss the Terriers' last two months of the Premier League season, and even the Socceroos' World Cup campaign, have been allayed after David Wagner confirmed Mooy had only a slight knock.

“Aaron Mooy and Philip Billing are back on the grass today with the fitness coaches and will be back with the group tomorrow," Huddersfield boss Wagner told reporters on Thursday.
"They’re both in contention for Saturday.”
The west Yorkshire club take on Newcastle United away at St James Park this Saturday.
The Terriers sit in 15th place, just three points above the relegation zone, with seven matches of the season left.
