Socceroo teammates Jackson Irvine and Aaron Mooy went head-to-head in the Championship clash as Huddersfield Town came away with a 1-0 win over Burton Albion at Pirelli Stadium this morning.
Both Socceroos managed 90 minutes as Mooy’s Terriers recorded its 11th win of the season and now sit fourth on the Championship table, while Irvine’s Brewers are narrowly avoiding the relegation zone at 21st after an 85th minute strike by Nahki Wells.
At just 23, Irvine was given the captain's armband for Burton Albion as the Brewers reverted to a 3-5-2 formation leaving preferred captain and defender John Mousinho on the bench.

Irivne’s captaincy comes after consistent performances for Scottish side Ross Country last season which has been continued for Burton Albion in 2016/17.
However, both Australians have caught the eye of many this season and have been the stand out performers for their clubs.
Mooy had involvement in teeing up the winning goal for Huddersfield as his free kick found Chris Schindler who headed to Nakhi.
The former Melbourne City star has started 20 of 21 games for Huddersfield this season and is clearly in Socceroos boss Ange Postecoglou’s long term plans after being involved for Australia for all of 2016.
Irvine is pushing to be on Postecoglou’s radar and has been substituted off the bench in the past five appearances for the Socceroos this year.
The pair's success at club level will be sure to put a smile on the Socceroos boss’s face after Tom Rogic’s fine form for high-flying Celtic continues assisting Moussa Dembele’s goal in the 1-0 win over Hamilton Academical this morning.

Celtic is currently first and undefeated on the Scottish Premier League table with 14 wins which sees its best domestic start in the history of the club.
