Aaron Mooy appears set to be fit and available for the Socceroos’ crucial 2018 World Cup qualifier against Thailand on Tuesday after suffering illness in Japan.

Mooy was floored by a “24 hour bug”, ruling him out of Thursday’s 2-0 loss to Japan in Saitama, where he was so ill he couldn’t even attend the match.
The influential Huddersfield Town midfielder trained with his Australia teammates at AAMI Park on Sunday and is expected to return to the starting XI.
Socceroo Mathew Leckie said: “The next day after the Japan game he said he was feeling much better.
“Obviously not perfect but I think he was back to full fitness and ready to go.”
In other news, Trent Sainsbury trained away from the main group, with concerns over his availability due to a groin complaint.
Sainsbury hadn’t played for two months prior to the Japan due to an injury sustained at the Confederations Cup.
“I’m a little bit stiff and sore at the moment,” Sainsbury told Fox Sports on Sunday morning.
“A few nights’ good rest and the physio staff will get me prepared well.
“I’ll be ready to rock and roll for the game.”
