Mooy grabbed two goals in Huddersfield's 2-0 victory over Wolverhampton on Sunday.

It was the Terriers' second win in their past three games, which included a 1-1 draw with West Ham.

The seven-point haul has pushed them off bottom of the table and out of the Premier League relegation zone.

"It’s nice to score," Mooy told Sky Sports. "The win's very important for us all. That’s 3 games - 2 wins and a draw - so it lifts the whole squad. It’s a great day. When you’re going through a bad patch you felt like it’s never going to end.

"But we have to be mentally strong and keep going. Now we’ve had a few results we need to keep riding the train and get as many as we can while we’re confident and doing well."

Mooy's second strike was a from a free-kick from distance.

Asked if his first-half goal had given him the confidence to have a crack for the second, the midfielder said: "I don’t know. Sometimes when you score it gives you more confidence. It’s great to score two goals, I'm very happy."

Huddersfield coach David Wagner was also delighted with Mooy's magnificent performance.

“Aaron Mooy is a top class player, he has this calmness on the ball. His decision-making was great,” said Wagner.

“You will rarely find a player with such good technique and vision who is prepared to work so hard for the team. His work for the team is something extraordinary. We are very happy to have him in our team."
