Two goals from Cristiano Ronaldo - which brought up his century for the club - gave Madrid a 2-0 win over Lyon at Stade Gerland to ensure they are certain to qualify from Group D.

The win against Lyon - a team who have caused Madrid more than a few problems in this competition over the years - was satisfying, but Mourinho insisted it must be seen as normal for the club.

"This victory is very important because it has qualified us for the next round. We will now fight to do so as group leaders," he said on www.realmadrid.com.

"We're doing important things, but I want these things to be normal at Real Madrid. I want it to be normal for us to win here and that we're always top seeds in the Champions League draw.

"I want to experience these moments with normalcy and satisfaction. This team has the most important history in football, so these moments should be regarded as normal, not extraordinary."

Portugal winger Ronaldo arrived at Madrid from Manchester United in an £80million deal in 2009, since when he has been a model of consistency.

The 26-year-old admitted his personal success at the Bernabeu had surprised even him.

"I didn't expect to score my 100th goal so soon," he said. "I'd like to thank my team-mates and the manager, who gives me the chance to play and grow as a player and as a person.

"It was important to win and qualify for the next round. We made it. We're calmer now that we've won our first four games.

"We all played very well against a team that made things difficult for us. We must keep this up and avoid comparing ourselves with other sides.

"We're more mature than last year and we're having a good run, but we must also take things slowly."
