The Italian giants could only manage a 3-3 draw against Anorthosis Famagusta in Cyprus on Tuesday night.

Mario Balotelli gave Inter a 13th-minute lead but a defensive mistake from Inter allowed Cedric Bardon to equalise.

Both sides scored towards the end of the first half, first the visitors through Marco Materazzi and then substitute Giorgos Panagi for the hosts.

Nikolaos Frousos gave the home team a shock lead early in the second half but Inter rescued a point thanks to Julio Cruz 10 minutes from time.

"It was not a question of tactics," said Mourinho. "We simply made incredible individual mistakes.

"There is still some time to go before handing out the Christmas presents!"

Inter remain top of Group B, three points ahead of second-placed Anorthosis with two games remaining.

Despite their midweek setback, Mourinho is still convinced his team can finish top of their group.

"We should have won," said Mourinho. "We had all the conditions to do so and we failed. But looking at the standings, a draw is not a disaster although I'm not happy. We must win our next game."

Inter host Panathinaikos on November 26.
