Jose Mourinho has declared that Real Madrid will not be selling Gonzalo Higuain unless his 150-million-euro buyout clause is reached.
Paris Saint-Germain have been heavily linked with a move for the Argentina international with the French club's director Leonardo confirming their interest in the player.
However, preparing for Real's final La Liga game of the season on Sunday against Mallorca, Mourinho was keen to pour cold water on any potential deal for the striker.
"Some people seem to forget players are owned by a club. (Higuain) will not be going to Italy, England or Germany unless someone pays the 150 million euros. We want him to continue with us because he is one of the best strikes in the world," Mourinho said.
The former Inter boss swiftly moved on to discuss the club's season and despite believing some players had the perfect season, Mourinho is adamant there is still some small room for improvement for Madrid.
"The season is a nine (out of 10) but there are some players who have been a 10. Some cannot do anything else (to improve). The team is a nine but some players a 10. Do not ask me who," he said.
"We've grown as a team and as a group. We wanted to play better and be stronger. We've played at a high level and we've created records. We have the most important title because we won it over 11 months and 38 games.
"To reach the Champions League semi-finals was important because we've managed to play two in a row which means we're there. If you play 24 games and lose only two, it means you're at the right level.
"The Copa del Rey was the least important title for us but we respected it and fought well. Only reaching the quarters does not mean we didn't play football. Our numbers are impossible to improve. Next season we will aim to win the league again but this season's numbers will be very difficult to equal."
Victory for Madrid on Sunday would see the champions finish the season on 100 points, a feat never achieved by a team in the Spanish top flight.
