Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho admits his side’s pre-season match against City in China could be cancelled after a horror few days for his team.
Half of Mourinho’s players were caught on a plane on Saturday which was forced to land between Shanghai and Beijing because of a violent storm.
“We were supposed to fly in two different planes," Mourinho said.
“The second group was unlucky as they had a storm and had to land somewhere else for a couple of hours.
“They then arrived at the hotel for dinner at 1:00 am. The players are good and arrived with a smile.
“It is almost the end and we can go home and train in conditions where the players are safe."
Manchester United are scheduled to play City on Monday but there are no certainties the match will proceed with bad weather forecasted.
The team’s training base had to me moved due to bad weather and after a few days of disruptions and Mourinho can’t wait to get his side home.
“It has been really bad,” he said.
“We are hopeful the game will go ahead.”
