Everton manager David Moyes has told Steven Pienaar it would be a mistake to leave Goodison Park.
The South Africa midfielder has attracted a number of suitors with his impressive form this season.
Pienaar has just over a year left on his contract after arriving from Borussia Dortmund and Moyes is anxious to retain his services.
Moyes told the Liverpool Echo: "Steven Pienaar is at a club that really suits him and sometimes a player has to decide what is best for them.
"Everton has been good for Steven. If anybody wanted to leave, they'd be poorer for it. Most people that have left here, it's not tended to work out for them."
