DAVID Moyes takes Everton to rejuvenated Tottenham tomorrow admitting some of his top stars, including Tim Cahill, need to start producing their best form.
The Goodison Park chief, facing his 300th match in charge, could be without a string of injured players at White Hart Lane.
Louis Saha has picked up a hamstring injury, Tony Hibbert is out with a thigh strain while Steven Pienaar has not trained for a fortnight due to a knee injury.
Nuno Valente has recently had a knee operation and youngster James Vaughan will have cartilage surgery in Colorado shortly. Victor Anichebe is struggling with a pulled hamstring.
But Moyes is looking for an improvement in form from midfielders Mikel Arteta and Tim Cahill.
He said: "Mikel would accept that he is searching for his best form. These things happen, he has been very good for us in the time he has been here and I am sure his form will return.
"He is working really hard, he had an injury in the summer, and sometimes it takes time to get back to your best."
Cahill has struggled to adapt to the arrival of Marouane Fellaini, but Moyes said: "We need his goals, but at least he is getting in the right positions.
"He was doing that at Wigan on Monday, which was a disappointing performance from everyone, and he just didn't manage to finish.
"We need his goals, he is an important part of our team. We miss them, but they will be there again."
Pienaar has not trained for a fortnight, but is in contention to return.
Moyes said: "We miss Pienaar, we miss his creativity, and that was clear at Wigan when we lost 1-0 on Monday.
"He gives us that quality, but he has had a stop-start season with a broken foot and now this problem. But he will be back as good as ever, I'm sure."
Everton need a strong reaction from that defeat at the JJB stadium.
"The Wigan performance was a real worry, I did not enjoy the performance. We did not play as well as we have done, but we move on and we have dusted ourselves down and are ready for Spurs," Moyes said.
"The players here understand the standards that have been set, they did not need me to tell them. They knew what was wrong, we have talked and there has been a closure.
"Now we are looking to get things right at Spurs. We only lost one of the previous seven so we need to go on that sort of run again."
