Brown has played down links with Viduka, a free agent after leaving Newcastle at the end of last season, insisting there has been no contact.

However, the prospect of signing the former Leeds and Middlesbrough striker has not been completely ruled out.

"A fit Mark Viduka is some I would be interested in for sure," Brown told the Press Association.

He was responding to a report in the Australian media that had claimed Hull were one of two EPL clubs chasing Viduka.

However, Brown also told the Hull Daily Mail : "If we were interested in Mark Viduka, we'd pick the phone up and speak to Mark Viduka because he's not attached to any football club and that hasn't happened."

Asked if it was likely to happen, Brown replied "No".
