Roar have missed the Murdocca-Matt McKay partnership - and the workrate and energy the duo produce during 90 minutes - as the pair have both endured injury woes at the club.

McKay is now back in action...and Murdocca cannot wait to link up with his partner in crime once again.

"I'm hoping to get 45 minutes for the youth league side (against Central Coast Mariners) this weekend and that would give me a real boost," Murdocca told au.fourfourtwo.com today.

"I'm back in training with the boys but I can feel my sharpness and my turning still has a way to go. Matty (McKay) says he's looking forward to having me back in there and that obviously gives you a boost."

Murdocca is now keen to put the injury behind him and crack on with his career.

"You are going to get injured in this profession at some point. You have to take injuries on the chin," he said. "I broke a leg just before the Under 17 World Cup earlier in my career and missed out on that.

"You just have to pick yourself up and move on."

With a new coach at the helm though, Murdocca knows he will have to fight for hi place in the team.

He said: "I've worked with Ange (Postecoglou) in the youth Australian teams and been in plenty of training camps.

"Hopefully he knows my game and he knows what I can do. But that doesn't mean I can take anything for granted. It's about getting out there and proving yourself.  Proving that you deserve a place in his team.

"Ange expects 100 per cent all the time, in everything you do and all the boys are working hard to push for their spot. It's a fresh start for everybody."

Murdocca's imminent return is not the only plus for the new boss with both Charlie Miller and Michael Zullo back on the training track and pushing for a taste of action once again.

He added: "Hopefully we can push forward in the second half of the season with all the boys coming back in."
