Jordan Murray says the monkey is off his back after scoring his first of the goal season for Central Coast Mariners last weekend.
Murray bagged a goal in the 89th minute as the Mariners went down to Melbourne City.
The striker was glad to get off the mark, and believes the competition for forward spots at the club is strong.
"It’s always good to get the first goal, it’s sort of a monkey off the back," he said. "But I would have rather got the three points. There’s lot of things we can look at and grow [from the City game].
"There’s plenty of boys doing really well. You’ve got Abraham Majok who’s very strong, he’s coming back from a slight injury.
"You’ve got Matty Simon, you’ve got Tommy Oar, you’ve got Sammy Silvera, they’re all competing for spots.
"We’re just looking forward to pushing each other and that’s how you get the best out of each other."
The Mariners have returned home after two weeks on the road.
They face Adelaide United on Saturday and the 24-year-old is hoping for a bumper crowd
"We’re sure we’ll get the result against Adelaide," he said. "I’m always pumped to play at home. Central Coast Stadium for me, I’m a bit biased, but I absolutely love it.
"I think it’s the best stadium in the A-League. It’s always good to play in front of your home crowd."
