WELLINGTON Phoenix's Manny Muscat has been suspended for three matches for his red card incident in last weekend’s match against Brisbane Roar at Suncorp Stadium.
Muscat was sent off for an off-the-ball elbow to Tommy Oar in the second half, and the Match Review Panel - consisting of Barry Such (Chair), Simon Micallef and Alan Davidson - deemed the incident worthy of a lengthy ban.
Muscat was found guilty of "Assault on a Player (e.g. violent conduct when not challenging for the ball)" and has until midday on Tuesday to accept the proposed sanction or refer the matter to a hearing by the FFA Disciplinary Committee.
From the same game, Wellington Phoenix have been charged with team misconduct after the "club's participants collectively showing dissent towards a match official".
