MELBOURNE Victory captain Kevin Muscat has received an official reprimand and a suspended $1500 fine for his post-match bust-up with Brisbane Roar keeper coach Fernando Vaz Alves.
The pair clashed following last Friday's dramatic 3-3 draw at AAMI Park and Football Federation Australia provided the final word, determining that a breach of the national code of conduct had taken place.
Specifically, in the FFA's opinion, the actions of Muscat were found to have brought the game into disrepute.
The suspended fine will be triggered in the event of a further breach of the code during the current Hyundai A-League season, including any finals series matches.
But the FFA stopped short of banning Muscat, leaving him free to play in this weekend's derby with Melbourne Heart.
